Knights Fall in Double Overtime

Knight fans had high expectations for Sunday’s game against the San Jose Sharks and presumed victory would prevail on our home turf at the T Mobile Arena.  Unfortunately, the bout was lost 2 to 1 in double overtime and now the Sharks have a chance to steal the series.

Our Knights came out fast and strong in the first period. However, Logan Couture nabbed a goal with only six seconds left and put the Sharks on the board first.  Mid-way through the second period our Knight, Jonathan Marchessault, fired into the net and tied up the game. Knights and Sharks battled on the ice with great speed and energy, each holding the other at bay throughout the remainder of the event. This forced the teams into their first overtime since the series began. With no goal in play, the match went into double overtime. Ten minutes into the round, Goodrow committed a slashing penalty which put our Knights on their third power play of the night. Even with a man down, the Sharks were able to steal the puck from Mark Stone and Tomas Hertl flung it into the net which promptly concluded the fight.

Both Knights and Sharks fought valiantly to keep the competition alive and, with the series tied up 3 to 3, victory is again up for grabs. The next match is now scheduled for this Tuesday and the Golden Knights shift back into San Jose territory. Will our Knights overcome and conquer? We anxiously await the verdict.
